    Selarid (selamectin) Topical Solution for Puppies and Kittens (0–5 lbs) provides broad-spectrum, monthly protection against common parasites. This prescription medication prevents heartworm disease and effectively treats and controls fleas (Ctenocephalides felis), ear mites (Otodectes cynotis), roundworms (Toxocara cati), and hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme) in kittens, as well as fleas and ear mites in puppies. The active ingredient, selamectin, is a macrocyclic lactone compound that interferes with the nervous system of parasites, leading to their elimination. The application is straightforward: part the hair at the base of the neck and apply all the contents of the single-dose applicator directly to the skin. Selarid is safe for puppies 6 weeks and older and kittens 8 weeks and older. Regular monthly application ensures continuous protection, keeping your young pet healthy and free from harmful parasites.
