    Description

    Etodolac 500 mg tablets are used in dogs to manage pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and other joint conditions. This non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) selectively inhibits the COX-2 enzyme, reducing the production of prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation while having minimal impact on COX-1, which protects the stomach lining.

    The typical dosage for dogs is 4.5 to 6.8 mg per pound (10 to 15 mg/kg) of body weight, administered once daily. It is best given with food to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal upset. Etodolac helps improve your dog's mobility and overall well-being over the long term when used under veterinary supervision.

    As with any NSAID, potential side effects may include vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite. Regular veterinary check-ups and blood tests are recommended to monitor liver and kidney function. It is not suitable for cats or pregnant dogs.
