    Tylan® 200 Injection (200 mg/mL) is a prescription macrolide antibiotic for intramuscular use in cattle and swine. It effectively treats respiratory infections, foot rot, calf diphtheria, metritis, and certain bacterial diseases, offering a higher concentration for larger-scale or professional use.

    Description

    Tylan® 200 Injection contains 200 mg/mL of tylosin base and is indicated for use in beef cattle, non-lactating dairy cattle, and swine. In cattle, it treats conditions such as bovine respiratory complex (shipping fever, pneumonia), foot rot (necrotic pododermatitis), calf diphtheria, and metritis caused by susceptible organisms like Pasteurella multocida, Arcanobacterium pyogenes, and Fusobacterium necrophorum. In swine, it addresses swine arthritis caused by Mycoplasma hyosynoviae, swine pneumonia due to Pasteurella spp., swine erysipelas from Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, and swine dysentery associated with Treponema hyodysenteriae, when followed by appropriate medication in the drinking water and/or feed.

    Dosage & Administration:

    • Cattle: Administer intramuscularly at 8 mg per pound of body weight (1 mL per 25 lbs) once daily. Continue treatment for 24 hours after symptoms subside, not exceeding 5 days. Do not inject more than 10 mL per site.

    • Swine: Administer intramuscularly at 4 mg per pound of body weight (1 mL per 50 lbs) twice daily. Continue treatment for 24 hours after symptoms subside, not exceeding 3 days. Do not inject more than 5 mL per site.

    Warnings & Precautions:

    • Not for use in lactating dairy cattle or calves intended for veal.

    • Do not administer to horses or other equines, as injection of tylosin in equines has been fatal.

    • Swine intended for human consumption must not be slaughtered within 14 days of the last treatment.

    • Cattle intended for human consumption must not be slaughtered within 21 days of the last treatment.

    • Do not mix Tylan 200 Injection with other injectable solutions, as this may precipitate the active ingredients.
