    Description

     Acetazolamide 250 mg Tablet is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor commonly used to treat a variety of medical conditions, including glaucoma, epilepsy, altitude sickness, and edema (fluid retention). In glaucoma, acetazolamide reduces the production of aqueous humor, lowering intraocular pressure to prevent damage to the optic nerve. For epilepsy, it helps manage seizures by affecting the balance of electrolytes in the brain. Acetazolamide is also effective in preventing and treating altitude sickness by helping the body acclimate to high altitudes by reducing symptoms like headache, dizziness, and nausea. Additionally, it can be used to treat fluid retention caused by conditions such as heart failure or kidney disease, by increasing the excretion of sodium, potassium, and bicarbonate through the kidneys. The typical dosage and frequency of administration depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response.
